當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間25日，全球首富特斯拉首席執(zhí)行官埃隆·馬斯克與推特董事會(huì)達(dá)成協(xié)議，以每股54.2美元的價(jià)格對(duì)其進(jìn)行收購(gòu)，交易價(jià)值約為440億美元。

Elon Musk clinched a deal to buy Twitter Inc for $44 billion cash on Monday in a transaction that will shift control of the social media platform populated by millions of users and global leaders to the world"s richest person.

目前該交易已獲得了推特董事會(huì)的一致批準(zhǔn)，但仍需要股東和監(jiān)管方面批準(zhǔn)，預(yù)計(jì)將于2022年完成。交易完成后，推特將成為一家私人控股公司。

Twitter would become a private company on completion of the deal, which requires shareholder and regulatory approval.

Musk has criticized Twitter"s moderation, calling himself a free speech absolutist, and said that Twitter"s algorithm for prioritizing tweets should be public, and has criticized giving too much power on the service to corporations that advertise.

馬斯克曾批評(píng)推特的審核機(jī)制，他自稱(chēng)言論自由的絕對(duì)追隨者，稱(chēng)推特應(yīng)當(dāng)公開(kāi)其優(yōu)先展示貼文的算法，也批評(píng)過(guò)推特對(duì)做廣告的公司給予了過(guò)多權(quán)利。

“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans,” he said in a joint statement with Twitter.

Though Musk has indicated that his primary interest in Twitter has to do with what he views as the company’s censorship of free speech, Musk critics are concerned that the billionaire’s control over the platform will result in the silencing of their voices and others with whom he may disagree, given that he’s often blocked critics from his personal account.

Speaking with reporters Monday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said: "No matter who owns or runs Twitter, the president has long been concerned about the power of large social media platforms, the power they have over our everyday lives."
